The Scottish Equestrian Association Coaching Conference and the Awards Dinner, due to be held on January 15/16, at Ingliston Equestrian Centre, Bishopton, Renfrewshire is another event to fall foul of the weather.
“Unfortunately we were unable to escape the impact of the cold weather on the availability of the demonstration horses and riders. This in turn would have impacted significantly on the content and quality of the event,”explained SEA secretary Fiona Rawson.
“Coupled with our concern for the safety of those attending, and the forecast for the freeze to continue, the board felt it appropriate to postpone the conference. The dinner, as an intimately linked event, has been postponed too. Both events will be rescheduled and dates circulated as soon as we are able to confirm.
“In it our intent to seek a date in late March for the dinner and an autumn date for the conference, with both activities taking place at Ingliston Equestrian Centre.”

After a couple of recent visits to Musselburgh racecourse, I am of the view that it is a worthy contender for a racecourse of the year award.
