At separate magistrates' hearings last autumn, Wright and Heath admitted common assault, after a fight at a party at Houghton Horse Trials in May 2012, where rider Oliver Smith was injured in the incident. Both riders were suspended for two weeks last summer.
British Eventing (BE) have said its disciplinary committee had decided to suspend both riders for longer at the start of the BE season – Matthew Heath for six weeks and Matthew Wright for a further 24 weeks.
