With incessant rain falling across much of Scotland and the north of England this week the Dumfriesshire and Stewartry point-to-point are the latest casualty of the weather.
The annual point-to-point, due to take place on Sunday, April 11 at Netherby Park, Longtown, has been abandoned.
“The course is waterlogged and we’re unable to run the point-to-point this year,” said spokesman Alex Leslie.
After a couple of recent visits to Musselburgh racecourse, I am of the view that it is a worthy contender for a racecourse of the year award.
