Taking home the Sustainable Farm of the Year was R Mitchell and Sons, Whitriggs Farm, Hawick. Stuart Mitchell said: “I’m overwhelmed. Very tough competition, and it’s nerve-wracking, but it’s good to get the award at the end of the night.
“For us, it was just getting our business so that we would be here in the future for the next generation and making it exciting for them, and we want the farm to be in the best health it can be and improve it every year. We want to farm, and we want the next generation to be able to farm as well.”
