The pair made their first appearance since winning gold this summer at the London Olympics, at the show on Monday night to set a new world grand prix record in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup dressage qualifier with a score of 84.447%.
Their Olympic score was 83.66% and the previous world record of 84.08% was set by Edward Gal and Totilas at the European Championship at Windsor in 2009.
German rider Isabell Werth was second with the 11-year-old Don Johnson scoring 76.362%.
Edward Gal and his Olympic ride, Glock's Undercover, were third.
