Blue Chip Feed, already one of the most highly respected, successful brands in the equestrian industry and the winner of numerous coveted awards, has just achieved another ‘first’ by becoming the first ever Ethically Approved horse feed company.

The Ethical Accreditation Scheme is run by the London-based Ethical Company Organisation, which following extensive and detailed research, certifies that a Company or Brand has scored highly in a comprehensive overall analysis of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) record. This is the only such scheme in the UK and display of the ‘Ethical Award’ logo is increasingly recognised by the growing army of ethical consumers, who include a disproportionately high percentage of horseowners.

For Blue Chip founder Clare Blaskey, the prestigious Ethical Award marks public recognition of every aspect of the company’s commitment to quality and customer service, from raw materials and packaging, to nutritional advice and sponsorships. Announcing the company’s groundbreaking success, she said: “Everyone at Blue Chip has always worked so hard to maintain very high ethical standards and we are just thrilled that this has been recognised. We all feel it is so important in this day and age to be not just fair and decent, but to operate the highest possible principles in every aspect of the business.”
