ANNABEL IS a bright chestnut ‘A’ Line double branded pure-bred German Hannoverian mare and by the late Akkord, a sire she shared with Stonegrove Ace, the sire of Aerodynamic, the well-known Scottish advanced event horse ridden by international eventer David Gatherer.
The young Aerodynamic was owned by Jan Telfer, who also competed Annabel in BSJA classes, working hunter, ridden hunter, dressage and eventing. Owned for the last 14 years by Jacqui Docherty, Annabel has been based at Wardhouse Equestrian Centre in Kilbarchan for many years and enjoys the company of all the horses there. Jacqui says: “Despite being 23 she insists on being turned out first and will often ‘out jog’ whichever staff member leads her to the mares’ field in the morning!”
When Annabel began showing some stiffness and clicking in her joints, having read about the Blue Chip Challenge, Jacqui decided to try Blue Chip’s unique pelleted supplement for joints and bones, Dynamic and the difference has been amazing.
“We got compliments from people on how well was moving”, confirms Jacqui “and I’ve continued to feed Dynamic as she is much brighter and not so stiff when she is on this product. She’s a good doer and Dynamic provides her with everything she needs to maintain healthy flexible joints.”
Annabel finished her 2009 showing year as a reserve champion, having won four firsts, one second and one fouth place. Jacqui says: “Not the biggest haul of rosettes, but I am very choosy wherewe go these days and my veteran pal Annabel’s welfare is always paramount. Having ridden and owned horses for 35 years, I was always taught that ‘rosettes come second’.”

Unfortunately, by the time the symptoms of liver poisoning appear it’s often too late – irreversible damage has taken place.
