The sixth leg of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup will take place tomorrow (Thursday) in Aachen, Germany.

Great Britain are currently lying second on the leaderboard with only three top level Nations Cups left to go.

World Class Showjumping Performance Manager Rob Hoekstra has named his five riders who will represent Great Britain on Thursday, the team is as follows:

David McPherson from Maidstone, Kent will ride his own nine-year-old grey gelding Chamberlain Z. As a combination the pair made their debut in Rotterdam where the team finished second.

The world famous John Whitaker from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire will ride Rebecca Stones’ 13-year-old bay stallion Peppermill. 2010 has seen Peppermill back on top form and competing at three of the top level Nations Cups.

Nottinghamshire based Michael Whitaker will ride the 10-year-old dark bay gelding GIG Amai II who is jointly owned by Beatrice Mertens and the Gillespie Investment Group. This combination represented Great Britain at the World Cup in Geneva earlier on in the year. Michael is currently lying third on the GBR Ranking List.

Hampshire based Peter Charles will ride the 11-year-old bay gelding Murka’s Pom d’Ami, who is jointly owned by Olga White and Team Murka Ltd. This combination started off the Meydan FEI Nations Cup Series by jumping double clear in La Baule and since then the pair have continued not to disappoint.

Scott Brash from Peebles, Scotland will ride his father’s 11-year-old black gelding Intertoy Z. The pair made their debut at top level Nations Cup back in May this year jumping a foot perfect second round, proving they are a force to be reckoned with.

The Nations Cup will take place on this Thursday evening at 18:30 GMT and will be streamed online by FEI TV (www.feitv.org). The grand prix will take place on Sunday 18th July at 15:00.
