The four team members consisting of Christie Pritchard, Katie Robertson, Jake Saywell and Anna Wilks finished on a total score of five faults. Millie Allen who was the reserve also jumped the nations cup track and finished with a double clear.

Chef d’equipe Corinne Bracken commented: “The team were fantastic, the wonderful Belgian showground and big technical track was an experience that should stand them in good stead for their future careers.”

The Tretorn junior squad members took four of the top seven spots in the junior grand prix. With only three riders managing a clear in the first round over a technical track, 16-year-old Pippa Allen rode her father Peter Allen’s nine-year-old bay gelding Bonfire III into second spot after having an unfortunate four faults in the second round. Carian Scudamore, 16, riding her father Nigel Scudamore’s 10-year-old bay mare Angel III took fifth spot having four faults in the first round, with Donald Whitaker taking sixth place with Miss T Wilkins nine-year-old bay gelding Helix Z and 17-year-old Alison Barton riding her father Richard Barton’s 15-year-old bay gelding Saffier van de Brandkreek into seventh place.

In the children’s grand prix yesterday it was 12-year-old Millie Allen riding Mrs Steel’s 10-year-old bay mare Trueleva who came home clear in a time of 39.21seconds securing her pole position. Less than two seconds behind her it was 13-year-old Charlotte Smet riding Louise Morley’s 10-year-old liver chestnut gelding Maneken du Coty slotting into second place.

Chef d’equipe Corinne Bracken said: “The two girls showed their class in the jump off against a field of 12 riders whom were certainly more experienced than themselves. Millie was outstanding and rode worthy of someone three times her age. I’m so proud, not only of Mille and Charlotte but also the rest of the team out here with us’.
