At the Central Scotland Shetland Pony Group Youngstock Show, Caledonian Mart, Stirling, Mrs Heather Wilson, Alford, awarded the black championship to Donna Stuart’s Hawkdale Dixie, a three-year-old filly by Roseremus of Transy and out of Hawkdale Destiny.
This was a first championship for one-pony owner Donna, who won her pony as a Christmas prize foal. Reserve, and best foal, was the Transy Stud’s May-born Stelswan of Transy, by Elderberry of Transy and out of Stelalp of Transy.
Miniature champion, and best foal, was Denise Beattie’s broken coloured filly, Dryfesdale Cinderella, from Cambuslang, Glasgow. She is a daughter of Northwells Rory and Whitgift Carbonella. Gillian McIntosh, Galston, showed the reserve, Plumtree Huckleberry, a two-year-old filly by Plumtree Badger and out of Snelsmore Huckleberry.
The coloured champion was Jim and Graeme Wilson’s Myreton Suki, from Muckhart. She is a yearling by Titus of Hutton and out of Cindy’s Sophies. Janet Murray, Monikie, was reserve, with her Mawcarse Elisha, a two-year-old chestnut filly by Warrackston Scalan and out of Mawcarse Elsa. The best foal was Janet Murray’s May-born colt Mawcarse Esk, by Rustic of Sunnydale and out of Kerryston Esther.




Unfortunately, by the time the symptoms of liver poisoning appear it’s often too late – irreversible damage has taken place.
