Overall supreme mountain and moorland champion at Drymen Show was the Lomondside Stud’s Lomondside Melina.
The three-year-old New Forest filly was born at the stud less than a mile from the showfield at Drymen. By Willoway Highland Malt out of Lomondside Sandringham Melina headed the in-hand championship before lifting the overall title Standing reserve in-hand was Melina’s full brother Lomondside Troy.
Christine Myles’ Greenferns Shem, ridden by Anna Wyllie, was reserve mountain and moorland supreme. Bred in Aberdeenshire the 11-year-old Dartmoor gelding was the RIHS Heritage champion at the BSPS Winter Show.
In the hunter section it was Holly Mills with Dakota that went through the cards to stand supreme. Having earlier stood champion of both the coloured and riding horse sections its nearest challenger came from Euan Snowie’s hunter champion, Playboy Forever, ridden by Kirsty Aird, which has already qualified for the RIHS and was working hunter champion at Ayr. At Drymen it won the BHS Blair castle working hunter qualifier and the ridden hunter class,
Louise Snowie with Noble Elton, an eight-year-old skewbald gelding, were the working hunter ponies champion with Rachel Snowie and Georgian Dorian, champion at Ayr, in reserve.
Winning both the veteran and Arab championship was Stacy Gamble’s Behesht Tsunami.
