A total of 20 three-year-old horses turned out at Ingliston to participate for the champion prize money of £1000 which went to Harry Aird’s Ben Nevis.
With Concretto and Goodtimes bloodline, the colt was born at Balcormo Stud and bred by Ben Wentnick. The three-year-old colt impressed the judges with his correct conformation, flashy paces and the good technique to his jump. The bay colt also picked up the best turnout prize.

She was bred by Nicola Gillespie and presented on the night by owner J Ireland who traveled from Northumberland. Hazel a true to type daughter of the recently deceased Olympic stallion Calvaro and showed a tremendous quality to her canter and great power in her jump.

Bespoke also picked up the additional prize of being the highest scoring home-bred filly with 170 points.
On an equal score in seventh place was the VDL Tenerife daughter Bohemian Rhapsody out of a Nairobi mare owned by Lucy Maule of North Berwick, bred by Solaris Sport Horses with the last of the prizes for the best home-bred colt going to Des Le Marquand’s Bentley.

After a couple of recent visits to Musselburgh racecourse, I am of the view that it is a worthy contender for a racecourse of the year award.
