Showjumper Robert Whitaker suspended

SHOWJUMPER Robert Whitaker has been fined £2,500 and suspended from British Showjumping (BS) for six months, which has been suspended for 12 months, following a violent incident at Horse of the Year Show in October last year.

BS said Robert Whitaker was "found to have kicked a security guard, contrary to Rules 82.1 and 82.11" on October 3, 2012.

BS stewards decided that Mr Whitaker should be fined £2,500 and severely reprimanded and cautioned as to his future behaviour, suspended from BS for six months. The ban been suspended for 12 months — on the proviso that any similar offence committed within the next year would invoke the suspension.
