Fife Hunt Pony Club will hosting their annual one-day event in the prestigious grounds of Scone Palace parklands, which is set to take place on Sunday, May 2.

Traditionally the Pony Club’s one-day event takes place in August but by moving the competition forwards competitors will get the chance to compete over the British Eventing (BE) fences designed by Central Scotland Horse Trials.

“We are running this instead of our usual event in August in order to take advantage of the BE course that will be all set up, to help with much need funds for the continuation of the BE event and to give so many more people the opportunity of using this amazing course” explained Sue Lawrie, past District Commissioner of Fife Pony Club and part of the sub committee organising the event.

“There is such a lack of ODE’s in Scotland that I feel this is an excellent opportunity for both adults and children to take advantage of using this course” added Sue. Although run by the Pony Club the event is open to everyone, including adults, with classes starting from 75cm through BE90, BE100 and BE novice level.

As a result of the calibre of course the event will also run as a qualifier for the Knockhill Horsepower Scottish Cross Country Championships which means qualifying rider will be eligible to compete at the Scottish Finals at Gleneagles on October 10, 2010.
